We attach particular importance to environmental standards, as evidenced by the ISO 14001:2015 and FSC certifications obtained (by both DrukPak and Akomex). Akomex Group has been awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis, a leading global rating agency that evaluates companies’ activities and practices from the perspective of corporate social responsibility, including commitment to environmental protection. The EcoVadis Medal is a validation of our efforts in terms of business ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable development.
We are actively working to reduce the negative impact of our facilities on the environment, in accordance with the guidelines of the implemented environmental standard:
We have changed the heating of our plant and hot domestic water from fossil fuels (heating oil) to environmentally friendly fuels (wood pellets).
We have replaced traditional lighting with less energy-intensive LED lighting.
We cooperate with local authorities in monitoring air quality (including at our factory site).
We have begun to study the carbon footprint of plants and products – this is the beginning of our journey toward climate neutrality.
We are in dialogue with customers to build awareness of environmentally friendly measures and optimize processes, such as cutting with so-called common knives, which reduces production waste.
We have implemented environmentally friendly Anicolor and Ako7Color printing systems – reducing energy, water and cleaning materials consumption when printing packaging.
Minimizing the number of trucks in transit by using double-deck loading (66 pallets instead of 33).
